Introduction

The GeForce RTX platform brings together following things: 

  • real-time ray tracing
  • artificial intelligence and 
  • programmable shading 

The GeForce GTX 1080 Ti is NVIDIA’s newest flagship gaming GPU, based on the NVIDIA Pascal building design. The latest addition to the conclusive gaming platform, this card is filled up with extreme gaming horsepower, next-gen 11 Gbps GDDR5X memory, and a massive 11 GB frame buffer.

Nvidia RTX series of graphics cards are the most strong consumer GPUs that have ever been made.They add new technologies that bring about lighting way of carrying out a particular task especially the execution or performance of the card.

What does GTX and RTX stand for?

NVIDIA’s newest flagship graphics card is a revolution in gaming realism and performance. Its powerful NVIDIA Turing GPU architecture, breakthrough technologies, and 11 GB of next-gen, ultra-fast GDDR6 memory make it the world’s ultimate gaming GPU.

During Nvidia’s RTX 20 conference last year, we were treated to extensive demos of Battlefield V and Shadow of the Tomb Raider running with ray-tracing switched on. Since then, Battlefield V has launched with ray-tracing support, meanwhile Final Fantasy XV has been endowed with DLSS support. There are other games with RTX support on the horizon though, with quite a few studios working with Nvidia’s latest technology.

THE CARDS

The lineup of desktop Nvidia RTX graphics cards you can buy right now is very strong. It includes the newly announced

  • RTX 2060
  • 2070
  • 2080
  • 2080 Ti and
  • The Titan RTX.

They are obtainable directly from Nvidia as “Founders Edition” alternative with higher clock speeds and a recommendation cooler design for $600, $800, $1,200 and $2,500.

All but the Titan RTX are also available in various appearances from 3rd-party creators with all of the classic aftermarket bells and whistles like alternative coolers (including water cooling), lower and higher overclocks, aesthetic changes, and feature reinforcements. Prices for those start at $500, $700, and $1,000.

Although those are only solely high-end graphics cards. The RTX 2060 is set to go on sale on January 15 for $350 and will offer the same feature set as its more costly siblings, with lower performance capabilities. That’s still not an affordable card, but the power it offers at that price could make it the most pleasing card within the RTX generation.

PERFORMANCE IS EXTREMELY HIGH

  1. After Nvidia stuck to purely ray track down performance balancing in its Gamescom reveal, our own testing of the RTX graphics cards attested that the cards were the most strong ever released. They are extremely better at ray track down than their previous-generation counterparts, but in general gaming they mostly just rearrange the performance spectrum one notch.
  2. There’s no contradiction that the 2080 is extremely strong than the 1080, and the 2080 Ti is more strong than the 1080 Ti, but that’s far from the whole story. The 2080 falls beyond the 1080 Ti in some tests, perhaps most particularly in 4K ultra gaming tests.
  3. Pricing of the new cards proved difficult originally after launch, as their comparable-performing counterparts in the last generation were often available at lower prices.There’s no denying that the 2080 is more powerful than the 1080, and the 2080 Ti more strong than the 1080 Ti, but that’s far from the whole story. The 2080 falls behind the 1080 Ti in some tests, perhaps most notably in our 4K ultra gaming test.
  4. Pricing of the new cards was problematic originally after launch, as their relative-performing counterparts in the previous generation were often available at lesser prices.
  5. The 2080 and 2080 Ti are around 20-30 percent faster than their last-generation counterparts in the most stark of frameworks, but in most tests that gap can be as small as single-digit percentage points, so performance development depends on the software being run.
  6. The same goes for the Titan RTX. A somewhat more efficient RTX 2080 Ti, it has shown to be extremely powerful than even the monstrous Titan V in more settings, though will itself likely be reserved almost solely for yielding and enterprise tasks.
  7. The RTX 2060 is a little more spectacular, in that it’s an addition of a GTX 1070 analog than a GTX 1060 replacement, but its performance still isn’t astonishing.

RAY TRACING AND DLSS

  • While the number of traditional CUDA cores in the new graphics cards has expanded across the board, the more thrilling achievement of this current generation.
  • These new technologies at the heart of the twenty series planning mean that definite games will be able to leverage real-time sending back and advanced anti-aliasing techniques like never before. It’s an extremely beautiful technology, but an expensive one.
  • Initial tests revealed that ray tracing, even on the most strong cards, could only be valuably contribute at 1080p and 1440p at playable frame rates.
  • The more interesting technology these cards make possible is deep learning super sampling empowered by the RTX-series’ Tensor cores.
  • Nvidia is attempting to sell it as being of substantial benefit to bottom-end cards though. With the RTX 2060, it is said that it can outstretch performance levels of a 1070 Ti when ray tracing and DLSS are permitted.
  • Games that support either technology aren’t common right now, and games that carry both are rarer still.

PORTS, NOISE AND COOLING

While the hardware inside the twenty-series cards has changed, the external has obtained a major overhaul too. After decades of only one fan, recommended graphics cards, Nvidia has added a 2nd to its design. It generated a much more insular blower set up, no doubt to ensure that temperatures stay around accurate with the higher-power requirements of the new RTX 20-series graphics cards.This has resulted in cooler and quieter cards, but that’s not always the whole story.

IS THE PERFORMANCE WORTH THE PRICE?

  • As gripping as all of the features above and specification enhancements are, they must be taken in the conditions of cost. The RTX 20-series cards are the most costly new Nvidia GPUs to have been at launch in an extended time and by quite a margin.
  • The RTX 2080 Ti costs $1,200 for the Founders Edition and no less than $1,000 from 3rd parties.
  • The 2080 is priced at $800 and $700 respectively, while the 2070 is $600 and $500. 
  • The latest RTX 2060 will cost around $349 at release.
  • The 2060 is much better value for money and if you were eyeing up 1070 Ti or 2070s as potential upgrade alternatives, it’s not far off their capacity and far more reasonably priced. It’s still not a less priced card though, and more budget-conscious gamers will likely be keeping an eye out for something that’s more of a GTX 1060 replacement in the near future.
  • We would have same expectations if not even higher pricing skips in the mobile space. While ray tracing on a small size laptop screen may look extremely beautiful in effective settings, we’re doubtful of how much of a visual improvement it may be in general gaming.
  • Gaming laptops are typically sold at additional payments too, so with RTX hardware under the hood, that may only intensify.
  • Ray tracing is unlikely to be adopted heavily by developers until there is a large enough number of RTX-capable cards out there. It may well catch on in the years to come, but it’s going to be some time before the majority of gamers can support it.

DLSS is something entirely dissimilar and is further paid particular attention to improving frame rates. 

  • DLSS stands for Deep Learning Super Sampling and takes advantage of the new AI cores onboard the Turing chip.
  • The effortless way to think about it is AI-assisted anti-aliasing, using deep learning to forecast adaptation to each frame.
  • By moving to this technique, more of the GPU can be used elsewhere, thus improving frame rates.
